Most likely it sailed there during the days of the "tall ships".
The Victorian blade was manufactured by Sheffield, originally a chopper.
And one other with brass studs...

An uncommon find. Bound with hide and decorated with very early studs.
Deep patina of use.

Deep Patina of use.
Tsonga Knobkerrie
19th Century
This object was discovered in an old German collection. It has 3 sets of 4 disks, much like Tsonga staffs were carved prior to 1900.
At three points it is bound with old copper wire to give added strength to an old crack. Deep patina of use.
