These photographs were taken at or from the
entrance of "Willersdorf", a traditionally
built Cape Dutch homestead.

On offer

Bo La Motte Farm - Franschhoek South Africa
The main homestead and separate four car garage are under thatch. The
manor home was built in
traditional Cape Dutch
inverted T design. Three laborers cottages
are set off at a distance. The
parameter of the property is entirely encircled within a double security fence,
powered by two 00 volt energizers, which is further secured by
stainless steel razor wire buried beneath the expanse. A private
road and exclusive entrance is monitored by cameras.

A collection of antique English and French chandlers adorn
most of the expansive rooms, the centerpiece itself once a feature in the circa
19th century Johannesburger Hotel.
The property size is slightly over 7 hectares, or approximately 17 acres. This is a working
blueberry farm, outfitted with imported state of the art sorting
- sizing equipment
and cold storage units. Multiple boreholes or wells,
work in unison with pressure pumps situated in an another outbuilding,
maintaining high water pressure.
Bo La Motte's'
picture perfect parameters
are outlined in blue, above right.
With the exception of the brief harvest, labor has been
reduced to a single member of staff. A highly efficient pressure compensated drip irrigation system delivers precise
amounts of water individually to each of 18000 berry plants. Fertilizers,
micronutrients and organic herbicides are delivered by automatic injection through the system.
The farms income exceeds running costs, while taxation is offset by the companies
accumulated loss.

A delightful
vineyard is situated in the front and side of the manor house, which produces a limited
quantity of Sémillon wine grapes.

A natural spring feeds a dam stocked with trout, while
a second is home to an array of
exotic water fowl. Two hectares have been set
aside for conservation, which among other things, is home to Zebbie
and Vuyu the
Zebras.

Cape Dutch Homesteads in the Franschhoek Area.
It was written:
"Willersdorf" Bo La Motte is a portion of one of nine original historic Huguenot wine farms. It is
a working farm nestled under Middagkrans mountain, commanding an
astonishing view of the valley. In 1709 Pierre Joubert named
his farm La Motte after his home village in
France; "La Motte d'Agues". "Bo" meaning "up" in Afrikaans,
locates
this historic ground as "upper La Motte". No wonder, as it is
located up the
Franschhoek pass on what was once the old elephant trail.
Pierre Joubert boarded
the Berg China in Rotterdam on the 20th of March 1688. The vessel
was 160 feet long and carried 175 passengers. On August 4th 1688,
Pierre Joubert arrived in Table Bay. Four in a half months had
passed, whilst 19 people had perished.
