This book accompanied
an exhibition held at the Durban Art Gallery during 2003. The contents
therein are the property of the Standard Bank Collection of African Art,
which is held at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg,
South Africa. The exhibition was
first shown at the Albany museum in Grahamstown during the 2002 at the
National Arts Festival.

For those who like
verbal, this is the book for you. In amongst the generous color photographs
you will find the odd bit of interesting tribal art, for example a Makonde
mask, a Zambian staff, a Swazi belt and carved gourd by Kumalo.

It is unfortunate for us as vendors, to
learn that those who had purchased the staff in the 1990's,
failed to preserve photographic records of the gentleman who once owned
the staff - which they were provided. It is our pleasure to share with you the photograph -
above right.
Price: $70.00
plus postage.
