Barbara Tyrrell gives a full account of Bhaca traditions, complied over
decades of study in Richmond, KwaZulu Natal. Barbara Tyrrell grew up and
spent an important part of her life in Richmond, an area populated
by Zulu speaking 'Bhaca'. She wrote 'Suspicion is My Name' in the voice of
a young Bhaca woman named Suspicion.

This book was published in 1971 by her lifelong friend Tom Bulpin. It has 191
pages detailing minute aspects of Bhaca customs and beliefs. Barbara
Tyrrell captured and exposed what others could not 'see' in over 20
colour plates, many originally sketched in line drawings dating to 1940.
