Moses Mangaiso

A Contemporary Zimbabwean Artist

Master carver of humanized baboons and outrageous gorillas!

Moses Mangaiso was born in 1962 in Eastern Zimbabwe near Chipinge at Chibuwe. He went to school at Chibuwe and Rimbi Secondary School. Moses is a self-taught artist who first earned money from carving in 1988.

A deep sense of feeling and infectious humor erupts from each work.

Moses own happy smile matches his hilarious creations.

Movement and action race forward from one carving to another.

To date we have not seen duplications.

Real life events shock, leaving the viewer surprisingly amused.

Baboons are overwhelmed!

Humour flows as carved spilled milk!

Rarely seen works depicting relaxation remain totally amusing.

Moses adds a riotous dash of fun for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Action and expression come alive.

Each work is a one-off celebration of fun.

Moses comes up with endless amounts of ideas.

FIFA 2010 World Cup!

A gorilla took Moses attention during the soccer.

Enjoy the rest of these images of of him at play.

BOO!

We hope Moses Mangaiso enjoys this page on the world wide web!

(And that one day his formerly fantastic country will come right.)
